Come, Experience our Community
Are you planning an
in-person visit?
Come as you are; there is no dress code. A few people dress formally, but most wear fairly casual clothing.
Here is what to expect. Our ushers will meet you at the front door and offer you a bulletin.
They might notice that you're not wearing a name tag. We wear name tags to grow a scene of familiarity and connection. You will be invited to wear a name tag to share in that spirit of connection. But if you don’t feel comfortable wearing one immediately, that’s okay with us.
We want you to feel welcome and to feel that you belong at CUMC.
Next, you head into our sanctuary, a beautiful postmodern space that lets in the beauty of creation. Find a seat anywhere in the pews.
What happens during a worship service?
Our worship services are about an hour long. The Order of Worship in the bulletin will show you how the service progresses, including when to stand (in body or in spirit, depending on your mobility and accessibility needs) and, in some places, what to say.
There will be music, a greeting, a call-and-response moment, moments with children, a reading of scripture, and a sermon to guide us in unpacking the scripture teaching.
Kids are always welcome in worship and with their families, but if you would like your (0-5) to spend some time with our care team in the nursery, that is an option, too. Children will be invited to a children’s moment during the service, and then the children are invited to join our Sunday School for the duration of worship. The kids will meet you back at fellowship time.

What happens after worship?
We host refreshments and coffee. This is a time to get to know people at church and ask questions. Our current members are happy to talk with you. Stay as long as you would like.
